Feels like politics stopped knocking at the door and just moved into the living room without asking.

The Guardian has been writing about every minor far right party in Europe for 20 years. Regardless of their obscurity or reach. Few have done more to promote the far right in the English speaking world. The Guardian has a far right fetish.

Start solving the root problems that makes people listen to populists, and far-right popularity would disappear just as fast. Pointing fingers is not a solution.

The further left, the left goes the more it cedes the center to the right. Recent polling indicates that more people think the left is “too liberal” than the right “too conservative”. And before you start foaming at the mouth. I am merely reporting some facts not saying I approve one way or another.

Extremism, whether far right or far left, will always arise if the government stops serving the interest of the people.

More like far left with the wokeism

    Nice brigade over here.

Anyway it’s seeping in everyday culture and that you can’t deny

  7. People are unhappy. That leads to a rise of a counter force to the current political forces.

Find out why people are unhappy and fix that and the far right problem is solved.

This is very easy to stop the far-right. Everyone would already be happy if we stop importing people from the worst countries in the world. I was a leftist before it becomes too much and many other people are fed up now, we don’t want our countries to become London, Brussels, or Paris. We worked so hard to build what we have… it is such a waste. You have to be sadomaso or completely brainwashed to think what happens is normal in France, UK, Italy, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Sweden.. What’s frightening is that even ‘far-right’ politics are allowing this immigration issue like Italy.

duhh, just look at the last 10 years and tell me it wasn’t obviously coming

People like easy solutions, and that’s why the far right is on the rise. The far right doesn’t have to be nuanced. They can openly say, “We will ban all immigration, ban LGBT ‘propaganda,’ end all aid to Ukraine,” and immediately gain a large following. Radical solutions are easy to sell because people’s basic reaction to anything they don’t like is complete rejection.

  11. “‘It’s frightening’: How far right and far left are infiltrating everyday culture” would be more accurate.

Left/right is oversimplification anyway that splits politics into two tribes in order to increase engagement and clicks.

It’s mystifying how Europeans can be so blind to the fact that the newcomers are Supremacists? Far more conservative and supremacist than any “far right” party in Europe.

The only example they can come up with was from 15 years ago? That’s the evidence supporting the article?

Europe is at war. The far right and to some extent the far left has been weaponized against democracy by Putler, Trump and others interested in the collapse of the EU. They are not even subtle about it. The AfD, Le Penn, Orbán, Fico and others are all serving their Russian overlords, spreading Kremlin propaganda to their populations like no tomorrow.

  15. Well yeah, you have a world full of megacorp algorithms trying to make you scared, angry and addicted to their content. Funnily enough that will breed far right extremism

  16. notfarright on

Why do you folks go on and on about indigenous rights but when it comes to the European indigenous people you’d rather they were erased?

Why can’t European countries champion their people? No one signed up for mass multiculturalism, it worked well with the good people coming in but now it’s eroding the culture of Europe and you champion it yet most of you are European descendants, it’s wild it really is.

The low IQ thinking is just astounding for those who call themselves educated.

It’s ridiculously easy to be radicalised, I have always identified as centre left and one day I just looked around at how the wholesale enshitification of a continent was being caused through societal changes driven by ideological left wing extremists and BAM, I was right wing!

Nazis are not and will never be vegan. They might be on a plant-based diet, but that’s a different idea.

Fascists always infiltrate and try to copy and take over nice things. They don’t have theory or ideology to be persuasive intellectually, they can only imitate what’s popular to sneak by, to recruit, and to grow. If the stupidity and psychopathy of fascists was made transparent, they would remain obscure, so this is the ***the default*** for fascism. All they have is fantasy and bullshit, all deceit.

As for “trad”, that is not fascist appropriation, that is the grandparent of fascism. The pre-modern life and culture represent the social order desired by fascists. Even a century ago, Nazis were famously obsessed with medieval “knights” and bloodlines. More modern bullshit includes “aliens” (ancient too) and “star seeds” and “Atlantis” as part of the mythology of bloodlines; not as fascism, but fascism building blocks to show who is “superior” and who isn’t (and who should be eliminated).

    >Previously, however, their strength in doing so relied on the talent pool of their members, as musicians, artists and camera operators were needed to create content. With the advent of generative AI, this is no longer the case.

Yep. AI generation is a tool for scamming, for deceit, for manipulation. It’s a perfect fit for fascists.

`So-called “tradwives”, referring to female content creators who promote traditional gender roles on social media, are another example.`

This is from the article. Since when is promoting traditional gender roles considered far right?

  20. Far right this far right that. Everything is far and right nowadays.

While I would more or less agree, the Guardian is a very biased and ideological on some things. They’re very critical of anything that doesn’t fit their middle class/privileged/wealthy centre left biases.

Look at how well it’s worked out for America. They’ve been in brain rot for last 15 years

  23. Gold-Strength3255 on

The left went too far with their elitism and never ending racism in the last 10 years, so now we are experiencing a blowback.

  24. First-Egg-713 on

Its a counter to all the leftism of last decade. Thats kinda how it works, if you move the pendulum one way it goes back the other way.

Thats why you keep it in the fuking centre lmao…

If the EU stopped doing this insane immigration stuff these right wing parties would mostly die out.
