  1. Thompson is ultra nationalist (last time I heard) and will obviously bash on the left the same way the ruling party (HDZ party) which is christian rightwing will always bash “the opposition” and the opposition will always bash the ruling party.
As long as bashing works to change public opinion (because “the people as retarded” as the wise internet meme guy said), politicians will do it.

All of that being said, Thompson has the attention of a lot of people in Croatia and is therefore a problem if we ever want to de-balkanize.

  2. Current mayor and his party (Možemo/Green) won Zagreb election with 43.66% of votes. Second best party (HDZ/EPP) had 15,09% of votes. Extreme right had only 6% support.

Now you have the extreme right calling for a new election all of sudden? What are they aiming for? They would lose even harder.

  3. Ah, I’ve read of that guy before because apparently he tried to organize concerts in Switzerland several times but got banned.

FYI he is not some fringe figure. Half a million of people went to his concert recently. That is 10% of the population of Croatia.

He should have just sang Bleiburg, while wrapped in an Israeli flag

Everything is a cult that need to be removed. That means no more democracy or politics at all. Just a dog eat dog world where the strongest survives.

This man is a scourge upon my own country, and I hereby call of his removal.

Last time Croatia was a kingdom? 1918 Habsburg?
    Would that work for him?

**Communism was born from lies, it lives from lies, and it will die from lies.**

The city of Zagreb has an ultra-left mayor who doesn’t have a single day of service, except for left-wing activism and propaganda.

The city is no longer able to collect fallen leaves and take them to the landfill. Situation with municipal waste is even worse.

But that’s why the mayor spends millions of city money to finance a sect of his party’s political commissars, propaganda activists, who are tireless in their propaganda.

The only people that sound like they belong in a cult are right wing nuts like him…

    Hillbilly fascist.
    Screw him and his supporters.

  17. My favourite bit of irony here – maybe someone can explain nationalism because this bit throws me for a wild loop:

Thompson plays a massive concert, biggest in history, I believe.

The leader of Slovenia’s main far-right nationalist party, Janez Jansa, tweets a bunch of love and praise for Thompson, saying that Slovenia doesn’t have talented or brave people like him.

Now, Slovenia is a country with a very hard history with Croatia. If Croatian nationalists like Thompson had their way, Slovenia would not exist. Croatian nationalists took much of Slovenia already, and you can guess how much more they would take if they could.

Jansa is supposed to be the proud, staunch nationalist of Slovenia. And yet here he is praising a nationalist of a country who would love to be rid of his country.

It’s like Orban and Babis and such being pro-Putin, but in a more direct way.

How are these people thinking? How does it work in their minds to be a nationalist for their country, while loving nationalists of bigger, stronger countries who would be happy to occupy them?
