    “Putin wants Donbas”

    Why?

And why is Ukraine’s obligation to give up their territories? Why? Why no one is asking Trump how is this logical or right?

We are in 2026 and we force the victim to give up?

I wish. Positions are, in reality, not converging. Putin wants Donbass and Ukraine will not give it up (and they should not). That this is the only remaining issue is what Russia wants Trump, who is very stupid, to believe. Russia will demand significant sanction relief for a deal. That they are not shows us that this is not real. Many other ways to see this of course. Still, Ukraine and the rest of Europe need to play the game. All because the US president is a category 5 moron.

Isn’t this kind of irrelevant anyway, considering the EU agreed to give Ukraine those $90bn support for the next two years?

As in, I would expect Trump to keep on proposing completely ridiculous concessions from Ukraine, while Ukraine will keep at least entertaining Trump since there is no downside to doing that, and this will probably continue for some more time without anything relevant happening, until Trump gets bored and does some other nonsense instead, perhaps talking about annexing Canada again, or maybe Australia this time, or whatever.

Well the positions are converging, at least it’s progress

The whole sham is just to stroke one man’s ego. Everyone knows that Russia will not accept anything short of unconditional surrender and Zelensky just plays along in order not to be the “fall guy” when this all falls through.

€90 billion will be enough to sustain Ukraine for a year of war.
What will happen in November 2026 is still unknown to anyone.

This headline works for any trump-driven initiative in 2024, 2025 AND 2026!

He should promise Trump to rename the donbas area as the Dumb Trump.

As soon as he hears the name Trump will literally be on the map, he will buy into it.

Zelensky can’t tell Trump to go to hell, even though he’d love to.

“Russia wants to see Ukraine succeed. This may sound a little strange. But Putin has been very generous and sincere in his feelings about Ukraine’s success”—-Donald Trump in today’s press conference.

This is an absurd thing to say.

Honestly, the doom posts here are just crazy. Both Ukraine and Europe will be alright even if Ukraine give up Donbass (heck, it’ll be ok even if it give up all of its land east of the Dnipro river and we’re not even close to that point). Furthermore, Russia will not be able to launch another attack for a good number of years.

What actually matters if and when the peace deal is signed is whether Europe will use this opportunity to finally shape up its defense so it can take charge of its foreign affairs more independently. And for Ukraine too to actually clamp down on its corruption, as we all know, if it weren’t for Western Pressure, Zelensky woulda have killed NABU’s independence and we would never have known the $100 million scandal.
