      It is not really an attack. Police tried to raid a safe-house and ended up in a heavy gun fight.

      Clashes are still ongoing, Police called in support from neighboring districts, Spec-ops joined in the fight just recently. Updates indicate they were preparing for a mass casualty attack during New Year’s Eve.

      Judging by the fact that shootout is still ongoing (it’s been 5-6 hours) , they stocked up significant ammunition and firepower.

      I dread to think what would happen if Police didn’t intercept.

      Really grim to read, especially in a place like Yalova that’s usually so calm. If it’s stressing you out, maybe stick to local Turkish outlets for clearer info right now.

      Media outlets are not allowed to give further updates on this until the operation is over. So a lot of misinformation and fake news is making its rounds on social media, be careful of that.
