As far as I know it’s not entirely certain where they were invented but it’s most likely somewhere in the Netherlands.
Haha, these are the best. It’s basically saw-dust and sugar and 500g cost like 1,50€ and they’re super unhealthy, but they are so addictive. I could eat a whole bag at once. I don’t anymore, but I feel you OP.
