We do live in a strange time. Russia complains to the US president about an imaginary attack on Russia. US president responds by commenting how thankful this makes him to have weakened his allies in Europe.
In reality there’s probably a few years before the shit hits the fan properly, but weakening of European democracy is pretty much the only thing the US, China and Russia currently agree on wanting.

The EU is a couple of elections away from collapse. I would say we are already at war and we refuse to acknowledge it and act accordingly.
Russia has been targeting Europe with massive disinformation campaigns for years now, while they also have people carrying out hybrid attacks. They paid people in the UK to set fires for example.
Isn’t Russia having big struggle taking some small villages in east Ukraine? How fast can they get to the shores of Wicklow or Cork?

Are we ignoring the big glowing radioactive elephant in the room? Unlike the last two World Wars we hosted in Europe, any modern conflict now sits under a nuclear shadow. A full-scale invasion of Western Europe by Russia is essentially impossible, barring a total breakdown of rational leadership or a ‘scorched earth’ exit strategy. The same reason we havent had a 3rd world war is the same reason it won’t happen- it would be the last war we fought
We outsourced our continental security under the presumption the USA would remain a sober guarantor to secure our borders. Who could have foreseen America falling under the thrall of a functional mad king, one who was a deeply compromised ally of Russia. Honestly Europe would be mad not to make adjustments to accommodate the loss of security; America isn’t an ally anymore and we need to stop thinking that way.

The great Orange one has made this happen Europe has woken up. Europe will rearm and put a focus back on security plus it will stop taking orders from the USA who have made it clear they will no longer guarantee security in Europe to protect their interests, they simply want to still be in charge without paying the bills 🤣🤣🤣 which won’t happen.
Russia is dangerous but weaker and the US is slowly finally realizing how selfish and delusional the US President is and that he is essentially a Russian asset which is pretty bonkers when you think about it it’s like something out of a book or a series like 24!!
There’s a lot of weak minded people out there unfortunately but ultimately we should end up on the right path this mental issue of conspiracy theories and believing everything online is slowing down and many are realizing how stupid they’ve been. There’s a long way to go yet but I do believe we’ll be ok we just gotta work a little harder to promote peace and cooperation
Quick, the Russians are coming, better get Rheinmetal to build tanks for us instead of spending money on our own peoples problems we should focus on some remote area of eastern Ukraine that most people couldnt point to on a map. Anyone who really believes Russia will attack Germany, France etc is living in a fantasy world. They had the opportunity in 1945 with 280 odd divisions in Germany and eastern theatre against the allies 110 but the Russians didnt attempt to move into the West. What makes people think a far weaker Russia can do it now its crazy.
More nonsense. Europe – and Ireland in particular – is not at war with Russia and it is very foolish and dangerous to claim otherwise. Some of the ill informed jokers in these comments do not seriously think about the ramifications of what they are saying. Russia will not invade the EU – AND THAT IS A GOOD THING
I feel Russia is desperate. They don’t have the power they want and are using misinformation tactics and bullying.
Putin is not the master strategist he thinks he is.
Russia could compete economically with the kind of resources it has but is too corrupt.
A war if it starts i think they would lose but not before levelling half of Europe.
I suspect that the reality is, and people do not want to hear it, is that Russia should be met with a full attack in Ukraine, the Ukrainians on the front line need to given all necessary means to push Russia out of Ukraine. This has been coming, unless someone takes out the Russian leadership – this is where we are heading. If you don’t believe it, there are countless historical examples – and unlike during WWII, We will not be in a position to be neutral not when we are so heavily reliant. The worry is that this time, there will be no pearl harbour to bring the Americans into the war, Russia will have to do this while Trump is in power, and China will attack Taiwan too, because Trump and his cronies will not act. History will very well record that the election of the russian asset in the white house was teh turning point that brought Europe back into war.
