14 euro at the tunnel is mafia levels of racketeering
Or perhaps people should look into other methods of commuting that doesn’t involve their private car?
People complaining about traffic on one hand and on the other complain about disincentives to using cars.
We need free public transport within country Dublin and heavily discounted commuter buses and trains.
The port tunnel example is terrible. We should not be framing commuters can’t afford the toll as a negative. The only reason the toll exists is to ensure that commuters do not use the port tunnel.
But Pa Daly does have a point that the public private partnership in place for many of these tolls, like the west link, is totally skewed in favour of the private company running the booths at the expense of the state.
