A great little read that shows that EU membership was always beneficial to the countries overall. So no one should believe these anti-EU weirdos out there.

Just viewing it from the outside, finding out a couple of years ago that Spain is 2nd in the most kilometers of high speed rail of any country in the world (China is 1st), was a surprise. EU support helped build that.

I remember travelling to Spain pre-EU couple of times. What a massive difference today – the progress, way of life, accessibility of travel, consumer products and lifestyles. The country is a lot busier and dynamic but progress always comes with challenges. I love Spain for its inclusiveness and “live and let live” attitude. ☺️

    How have Spain changed?

👉 From 5% of unemployment to chronic 10%, with peaks of 25%,

👉 From being the 10th most industrialized country in the world to being irrelevant in industry,

👉 From having coal mining to have absolutely nothing in the Northwest,

👉 From having a vibing agricultural sector, to having a one dying from overregulation, where is easier to just import fruit and vegetables from Morocco,

👉 From having no international backup of defense to Ceuta and Melilla against the Moroccan menace; to having no international backup of defense to Ceuta and Melilla against the Moroccan menace,

👉 From having no European backup to our demand in Gibraltar; to having no European backup to our demand in Gibraltar,

👉 From “Africa starts in the Pyrenees” to being into the “PIGS,

👉 From everyone having a house, to being unable to restrict buyings of foreigners to combat the crisis, since Hans Hansman wants his 8th chalet in Mallorca.

But hey, at least we have the Erasmus and illegal immigrants. Thank you so much EU!
