Yep ….. and so what exactly is the plan to enforce accountability?

  2. MrTuxedo1 on

The president of the US has just confirmed on live TV that the US will run Venezuela and take over its oil industry. This needs to be condemned by every country and the EU immediately and there needs to be actions to oppose this

So the paedophile broke international law yet again, and Europe will do exactly nothing, yet again, at most our leaders will support the criminals.

Next will be the installation of the puppet named Machado, the “””selling””” of the oil refineries, and the persecution of the dissidents and journalists.

Well yeah no shit but everyone’s just gonna sit around with thumbs up their asses like usual. There will be more strongly worded letters when Donald attacks Mexico and Greenland.

Really puts into perspective how bad Russia is at war.

  6. The EU is too weak anyway to do something useful. I’m really sad about what the EU became…

Oil, raw materials, money, greed, and lust for power are the only things that matter. Even if it costs innocent people their lives, so be it. This is how the world began in 2026. A vivid picture of the lunatics and psychopaths who believe they can get whatever they want just by pointing at it.

Is the EU going to freeze US funds held by European banks?

  9. iam_gingervitus on

The problem is that the EU is all talk and no action. It’s just constant condemnation but zero follow through. Not just relating to Trump, but on basically all other international issues as well, especially concerning Russia. Condemn the US and Trump for this, but ignore what’s going on in their own backyard. The EU needs to be more united, decisive, and proactive if they want to remain a major actor in global affairs.

  10. I mean, international law is basically a meme at this point.

It doesn’t really exist in any real sense aside from being a cudgel to beat weak African states with. What matters is power, be it economic, political or military and if you have the means to wield it there’s not a damn thing anyone else can do about it.

This situation is the best demonstration of this principle in decades.

Wonder if the USA would kidnap dictators who *don’t* own f loads of oil and spread the sweet juice of democracy there

  12. DissedFunction on

unfortunately, trump doesn’t care what France or the EU has to say. the oligarchs who are running the USA don’t care either.

And Russia and China will complain publicly as well but it gives them further rationale to go into any country they want to destabilize and take over. (like Eastern EU or taiwan respectively).

Gaza, Ukraine, taiwan, Eastern Europe, Greenland and Canada should take notice.

  13. No_Size9475 on

Of course it does. The current US administration couldn’t give 2 shits about international law, they truly believe they are above the law.

  14. The indiscriminate bombing of boats was a violation of international law already

today Venezuela tomorrow Greenland..now or never Europe

  16. Nuclear-Jester on

Trump isn’t even PRETENDING this isn’t about comtrolling Venezuela’s resources

He is ramblimg right now about invading the place because he thinks it “belongs” to the US

Canada, Mexico, Greenland… nobody is safe

If I lived in Taiwan I would go on a lengthy vacation right about now.

The predictable empty words and moralising begin pouring out from Europeans. What are they gonna do about it? They have us by the balls.

  19. i_getitin on

Further proof that international law only applies to people who don’t align themselves with US foreign policies. But most of you people here don’t want to accept this fact.

  20. LordWinnall on

    The post-1948 settlement is over.

International law and specifically human-rights law will become secondary as nation states reimpose the idea of the interests of the sovereign nation.

It will mean we can deal with many of Europe’s issues in a way that we have been unable or unwilling to do until now.

  21. snozberryface on

This is getting scary, MAGA are completely deranged, everything the orange man does, they go along with, the moment he says to do anything they’re on board, this will end very very badly.

I’m now seeing them on social say they want Trump to go into Cuba, Columbia, EVEN FUCKING BRAZIL

  22. Appropriate-Edge2492 on

by no means do I support Trump, but as I was born in a country rule by autocratic regime, I hope someone could do the same thing to our dictator one day even now I live in a democratic country…😔
