These are simple fairy tales. The Black Sea has little importance for the EU as a whole and this decision was most likely taken just to please Romania and, to a lesser extent, Bulgaria. It is basically a closed sea with the straights being controlled by Turkey, a non-EU member. Who wants to invest into roads to nowhere?

Weird article that misinterpreted the situation.
The Black Sea hub is part of the strategy proposed by the Commission in March 2025.
VP Negrescu sent a letter to the Commission in support of Romania hosting the hub and VdL replied that it is up to the Council (member states) to decide.
