Good move. Best case it’s a nice solution to avoid the bad times, worst case it’s the solution where you wanted boots on the ground early anyway.

Good. It completely destroys the US argument that Denmark is neglecting security there, while adding a (hopefully) robust military presence that can act as a deterrent against Trump-US.

The main reason trump wants Greenland is still because he wants to leave NATO. He could have placed troops through NATO a long time already. Europe knows this, but we want to keep the US involved in NATO for now until we are ready ourselves.

We know this has nothing to do with defence, so this will only work for a short time until Trump takes another swipe at gaining a massive landmass to mine without worrying about the environmental damage.
With EU NATO troops better, US shouldn’t be concerned about defense anymore. It’s now covered.
Unless he means the EU is the enemy now.
Just do it, make it the safest place in the NATO territory, then they can’t pull that card anymore.
I think the US wants to use Greenland as the main place for its Golden Dome missile defense launchers but doesn’t want anyone to have access to them or run into issues in the future where NATO falls apart or they somehow get kicked out of Greenland.
The security complains is complete bullshit, everyone knows a Russian air Chinese invasion of Greenland would mean all out war and as such is extremely unlikely to happen.
Just like Venezuela, Trump wants Greenland because of the natural resources. What we need to prepare for is a complete ban of any American company which operates in Greenland from the EU.
EU always discuss and then send a “strongly worded letter how hurt they feel”. Grow some balls and just send the soldiers there without announcing it.
Leaks from the US military tell stories how the generals are trying to occupy Trump with other military actions so he is distracted from Greenland. And from what we saw in Venezuela it kind of seems to make sense now. Including also the last years strikes on the alleged nuclear facilities in Iran. According the them “its like dealing with 5 year old child”. It also is rather strange, how the protests in Iran started right around the time when the son of the last king suddenly reapeared and helped to start them too. Could be easily put in motion my Izraels and USA secret services (puts down tinfoil hat). And what next? Atleast a few weeks Trump will be busy with negotations with Iran so he can tell another story how he got another “war” solved.
Trump doesnt care for Greenland at all imo. Its easy to see how he wants out of NATO because according to him Russia is a problem for Europe to solve and China for Taiwan, Japan and the Phillipines to solve. In his head a wider war in Europe would mean a bilions of military equipment to sell and a complete shutdown of the china sea shipping trade routes would make China bleed bilions of dollars per day.
What does Rutte have to say about this? Isn’t it his job to solve issues like this?
