The public interest for this topic seems to be rather one-sided. Lots of articles in Australia media but none in Europe.
The proposal came from the EU side.
I guess it’s a no brainer. There is no risk in seeing Europe or Australia flooded by migrants from the other continent. And there are probably safeguards included.

I think it is more europeans wanting to live and work in Australia than vice-versa but anyway.

Wonder if this would take the some of the pressure off the Irish housing market, with another English-speaking country thrown into the mix… and if the Australian housing market can accommodate this.
I like the idea but there will surely be safeguards. Just based on population alone (not to mention the fact that Europeans speak good English but hardly any Australians speak another language making a job in Europe harder to come by), there will be a hell of a lot more Europeans wanted to go to Australia than the other way around.
