This is just about going for others solutions if they already exist but overall it won’t change much especially for the companies that are quoted.

It could end up just being instead of buying a product from mbda france looking at what mbda uk is doing etc, overall this will mostly apply to everything related to ground ~ (like the hull of the new tank which could be german) not much in other areas.

What Europe need is consolidation when it comes to military purchases. What we need is that countries buy European – not local stuff. Companies would need to establish R&D and production throughout Europe so that it doesn’t matter if the radar that France buys is made in France because someone else will be buying French missiles. Only that way can we ensure that there is sufficient money for R&D and economies of scale.

Lets say that each country signs up for a certain amount of purchases every year and that the company allocates R&D, production, etc. accordingly in the country. That way it doesn’t matter much if the specific product is made locally.
