Come straniero quando impari nuove parole in estone, per quanto ne so devi sapere 3 casi diversi: Nimetav, omastav e osastav. La foto è tratta dall’esercizio in cui sto cercando di scrivere parole in cui dovresti dire uno (nimetav), due (richiede osastav), molti – palju (osastav al plurale). Gli estoni nel linguaggio colloquiale usano correttamente questi casi? Nella foto sopra ho provato a indovinare 20 parole (probabilmente ho commesso un sacco di errori). Mi chiedo se i madrelingua lo sanno bene, se da straniero se lo dico molte parole invece di molte parole sarebbe un notevole errore?

It does come naturally. My kid is two and learning to speak and it is fun to hear how she messes up the words. Her most used is “minema” atm. Mina minen when it should be mina lähen etc. Makes me think of how messed up our language is every single day and wonder how on earth did we (almost) all manage to make it work eventually.

Yes, we use cases correctly when speaking, just like English speakers use prepositions correctly. Using an incorrect case is comparable to saying “I am in home” instead of “I am at home”. Noticeable.
