Impressive enough, but i can’t imagine it’s done the car much good, if it was at all avoidable

    2. Lucky to have pulled off such a stunt and not gotten washed sideways.

The car can still suffer damage from the water, often there is an air intake for cooling somewhere under the bonnet so that needs to be kept above the waterline

    4. Just a terrible idea in any car whether EV, internal combustion, hybrid whatever. As a rule of thumb try to stay out of what that’s above the sills or above the axle / the middle of the wheel. Every metal component on your car is going to rust fast enough in Ireland without immersing it it river water.

I’d say his BMW dealer will enjoy showing him that video if he lands in looking for anything done under warranty.

I hope the wiring harness is sealed well! Modern cars have a lot of wiring and circuit boards.

Petrol or electric i wouldn’t be comfortable with going that deep. He’s lucky the water is static, about 30 cm of water is enough to wash a car away.

Big auld boomer head on the driver – he’ll probably be given the dealer shit over why his car is so fucked

The water can also short electrics in electric cars what you’d want is something high & heavy with a snorkel.

Or alternatively force the government to spend some of apples 13 billion on flood defenses, climate readiness & planting trees.

That or are there any of those WW2 amphibious vehicles still around?

Haven’t you heard of the Hyundai EV driver where a bottle of water spilt on the floor behind the drivers seat. Ruined the batteries and not covered under warranty. And the Scottish couple driving through water not a deep as this = £17k repair bill.

Could be a rather expensive trip and easy enough to see by the fence that it was deep.

Paddy driver, driving in what appears to be their paddy field.

Apart from the potential damage to the car, driving in those conditions where you can’t see what’s under the water is foolhardy and moronic.

All the electrical components will be corroding as we speak.
