Solo un PSA se stai pensando di usare il piccione Funky per San Valentino o qualsiasi altra cosa. Sono rimasto punto con la nuova tassa doganale. Il costo era superiore alla carta e alla spedizione 🤣

Fairly scummy, having things priced in Euros, and then finding out it’s actually in the UK

For an .ie site that is horrible.

Should be upfront if there is additional Brexit charges.

Thanks for the advice. I was going to buy my wife a gift from them… I guess I’ll have to search for something else.

  4. Once had this with a very scummy website that had .ie domain, but sent their products from the US. Refused the package and asked for full refund. They of course said that they would’ve paid for the customs charges, but at that point it was a matter of principle. In my book it’s basically a scam to have an .ie domain and send products from elsewhere. Maybe except a British website who pays taxes upfront.

  5. It’s not .ie, It’s funkeypigeon.com/ie and their delivery information shows that everything is being sent by royal mail. They don’t mention customs at all for Irish or European deliveries which is terrible. It’s awful that we have to check everytime to make sure we’re not being scammed.
Not defending them at all but at least they don’t have a .ie website.

The cardfactory who are English bought them if I’m not mistaken. And all their stores in Ireland also get everything from the UK. Half the stuff is still priced in pounds. Bit shite you’re having to pay customs for a piece of cardboard, they’d want to cop on and have a stronger foot in the country.

Anyway that’s my rant time to touch grass 😅

You shouldn’t have been charged, Funky pigeon charge you VAT on their end. If you contact them they should refund it to you. I’ve had it happen with few different companies now, it’s a pain.

Something similar happened to me with a Instagram advert item
Bought the lights and it was nothing like the picture , but the cheapest shite imaginable.

I ask for a refund and the Dutch based company said they only give 50% back .

I sent them EU consumer rights text, and they said that ok I can get a full refund .

    If I pay to return the item to . . . . . . China.

What was going to be mad expensive, I argued that they are advertising as a Dutch company and nowhere do they mention China?

Eventually I got a full refund and they said keep the item. Scammers .

Don’t pay and they return to sender. Ends up just wasting their time and costs them money having to have shipped it only to need to refund you for their mistake
