One of the steps in the US national security strategy aimed at destroying the EU.

Interesring while journalists, media, scientists, comedians are being threatened by Trump in USA, he thinks its EU that has a problem with censorship. Absolute nonsense.

USA is the worlds biggest enemy.

    >At the heart of the accusations is a technical but crucial issue: because major platforms typically apply a single set of content policies worldwide, European regulations can effectively influence what Americans see online – the so-called ‘Brussels effect‘.

Waaaaah it costs money, gtfo with your free speech red herrings, these ppl would have their granny walk the streets after selling her kidneys.

  3. Doc_Bader on

Just because not everyone knows this: The EU actually has a database where every moderation decision on social media & big internet platforms has to be tracked and made public (so much for censorship):

**Edit:** Here an example, content removal on reddit: [https://transparency.dsa.ec.europa.eu/statement/104370308858](https://transparency.dsa.ec.europa.eu/statement/104370308858)

That said – the exact content that was deleted isn’t shown in these Statements, it shows that “Termination of the account” was due to “Rule 3: Non-consensual intimate media”

“Paedo ring accuses EU of censorship campaign”

More performative silliness from the cartoon characters formerly known as The United States.

  6. Oh, it’s that time of the year where the dicks of big tech oligarchs seem to have reached republicans tonsils.

  7. ThreeButtonBob on

Ok i know this stick by now. It’s coded language for “republicans have been running a decade-long censorship campaign”.

  8. Kingdarkshadow on

Nobody gives a flying F about republicans outside of us.

  9. This is right-wing populist BS to perpetuate hypocrisy at its finest.

  10. FeelingScrunchd on

Why do they release these reports, who cares? US spouts off bullshit, more news at 9.

  11. Crystalsnow20 on

Love it. We just discovered their entire politic/economic system is based on pervert pedophiles with ties directly to Israel but yes, the EU putting a mille foot down to respect our rules is the issue

  12. greenpowerman99 on

US banned TikTok because of foreign information collection and propaganda concerns.

Europe can use the exact same reasoning to ban the American advertising platforms that pretend to promote communication.

  13. TheBlack2007 on

The former United States of America has no business lecturing others about free speech while it sends its President‘s private goon squad after Journalists reporting about said goon squad executing citizens for enacting their constitutional rights.

The American Reich can take its “criticism” and shove it!

Don’t know whether this will fly but the French governments response to Musk:

Elon Musk: This is a political attack

French Response: Investigating child sexual abuse material isn’t controversial.

Turning it into political theater is manipulation.

Maybe that logic flies on some island. Doesn’t fly in France.

Lol the whole Epstein shit and they have the audacity

  17. Hikuro-93 on

‘Decade-long’… Hmm, I wonder what shifted about 10 years ago in US politics?

Almost as if a media celebrity used to grift and con entire swaths of people got his hands on the most powerful office on the planet.

  18. US Republicans?

The same US Republicans refusing to fully disclose the evidence of a global pedophile ring that involves many of their leadership cadre, their tech-bro allies and other assorted associates of theirs?

The same US Republicans trying to dictate what can and cannot be taught, or even mentioned, in school by teachers, including with regards evolution, sexuality, history and other topics?

The same US Republicans who fixed it so that if you want to visit America you have to submit your social media details so they can see if you’ve ever said anything to upset the babies that run their party?

The same US Republicans that try to dictate what the media reports, what the TV companies can joke about and even what the likes of South Park can satirise?

These people are utterly repugnant and they lie as easily as the rest of us breath.

I think it was Eisenhower who said that when fascism comes to America it will come carrying a bible and draped in the flag. He was a wise, wise man and not enough people listened.

  19. Gullible_Mousse_4590 on

lol oh America, the slide of your empire is hilarious

  20. Fine_Cauliflower3075 on

Once again, Americans struggling with the idea that their culture isn’t universal.

  21. Ballistic-Bob on

I’m amazed the US hasn’t run out of energy… The amount of gaslighting from this shit show of an administration is off the charts

  22. Flaky-Jim on

So Europe has to follow US laws, dictated by US tech companies, because said companies want no other scrutiny but their own. Right.

Time to fund and encourage use of European alternatives, in addition to prompting public organisations to ditch companies like Microsoft.

  23. US? Is that the country that’s installing mass surveillance cameras everywhere?

  24. NocturneFogg on

They seem to be laying into Ireland in particular because our regulators are on the front lines of this due to the EU HQs of multiple social media platforms being based here.

    https://www.irishtimes.com/technology/2026/02/03/irish-regulators-censored-social-media-coverage-of-elections-us-congress-panel-claims/

Nothing like being lectured about freedom of speech by a cult of fascists from a country with the 57th (and sliding) most free press…

I can see a couple of centuries of friendly Irish – US relations being utterly frazzled by this administration.

  25. Waste-Truth7973 on

This could be the joke of the century. Hearing or reading it from the USA Republicans, starting from the Oval Office, made me and others laugh. A small suggestion for Mr Republican senators: focus on resolving your own issues first, such as safeguarding your citizens’ constitutional rights. Avoid
excluding innocent people or blocking journalists at the White House. Teach your president to accept criticism, emphasising that no one is above the law and that everyone will ultimately face consequences. History has demonstrated this clearly.

  26. TheWhiteGuardian on

If US Republicans aren’t happy with you then you’re on the right path.

  27. Equivalent_Plan_5653 on

Americans when they find out their laws only apply in America

  28. Fluid_Fan_8534 on

🤣 They aim to destroy the EU, that is all. Don’t let them.

  29. Green_Seesaw1875 on

Honest U.S corporation reaction when they can’t do whatever they want all of the time or lobby their way out of ethics and laws.

  30. Funniest thing in a decade!
Whatever we are doing that pisses off republicans, let’s double it.
Also, maybe it’s time to block X completely.
