Not much info on what has happened.

    > “Our thoughts are with everyone affected by what has happened.

    and

    > Students who have spoken to LBC say they understand this to be a very serious incident that happened on the campus late last night.

    and

    > Speaking from the scene, LBC reporter George Icke said: “Staff from a student accommodation company have told officers in the cordon that they’ve had parents calling them in tears as they can’t get hold of their children and they’re getting more concerned as time goes on.”

EDIT, not much more on the BBC.

It’s amazing that it’s 2026, this event happened in a busy city centre, the police have described it as a very serious incident, and the public don’t have any idea of what happened.

It kind of feels like we should have some sort of indication of what happened. Otherwise you get out of control social media speculation.

Is this why there was that massive roach block by the rugby stadium last night?

    From what I’ve heard/read it’s 3 stabbings and 1 fatal.. I don’t know how accurate it is

  5. It seems like they ought to be telling the parents of people there that they’ve at least contacted the families of those involved if they have. That way it stops them freaking out that their offspring are safe.

I don’t think they should be saying much more unless there’s an imminent threat to safety in the area. People outside of the vicinity don’t need to know.

I live in the region and the local news still runs – almost daily – news stories regarding the Nottingham stabbings. This will likely keep them busy for the next couple of years…

They really havent learnt anything from Southport as the usual suspects on twitter are going wild completely unchallenged right now.

That‘s a lot of road closures and cordoning off for something that we’re not being told about.

My conspiracy radar is now in overdrive. I’m guessing the information is not being made public, bcause if we were to be, then there’s high chance of something else very serious kicking off.

Let’s be honest we all know what will have happened, who it was done by and why it has been withheld

    from ITV:

“We sent a paramedic in an ambulance car, three crewed ambulances and a responder from the air ambulance were also in attendance. We transported one patient to Leicester Royal Infirmary.”

In a statement, a spokesman for the university said: “We are aware of a very serious incident on our campus. We are working with Leicestershire Police as they launch an immediate investigation.

Leicesterian here, albeit one without any useful information. Everyone here isn’t sure what’s happened. There’s rumours of a stabbing but there’s nothing solid yet. Also rumours of road rage and then others of a road rage incident ending in stabbing. Basically there’s a lot of guesswork going on.

Whatever it was, it’s very bad. We had a non-fatal stabbing in the centre a few weeks ago and the police cordons were gone from the area within hours. For them to have sealed off so much and for this long means it’s very likely at least one person has died.

Have we learned nothing from Southport… It happened yesterday rush hour… And NO public statement detailing the event, I’m not asking for a blow by blow, but simply saying it was a multi person stabbing spree.

I first read about it on the BBC, then searched around to find out what happened, nothing, they’re all saying jack shit, so here I am on Reddit and I’ve instantly found out it might be a murder with a knife, three others injured….

All the Police need to say is that X amount of people are injured, X has died.

I’ve not looked at other parts of the net, as I’m in the office, but I imagine the usual crap is being spouted and hate increasing…

It’s frustrating how little official information is out there, especially when it leads to everyone scrambling for rumors. Having a clear, timely update from authorities would really help curb the speculation. Hoping for more clarity soon for everyone affected.

  14. Instead of accountability, officials and politicians are busy crafting excuses to defend a failure that happened on their watch.. in my opinion.

Mods you can pin this as I can confirm.

Single fatal stabbing incident last night, on the student campus. No wider attack. Attacker arrested, and it’s now a murder crime scene cordoned off.

Usually the Legacy media go quiet on stuff like this when its linked to the government’s direct fuck ups. I.e mass uncontrolled immigration.

    Go figure.

A murder investigation is underway after a man is believed to have been stabbed close to Leicester city centre.

Police were called just after 5pm yesterday (Tuesday 3 February) following a report that a man had collapsed in Oxford Street, close to the junction with Bonners Lane.

While officers were en-route to the scene it was reported the man – who is in his 20s – had been stabbed.

The ambulance service also attended, and the man was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary. He died a short time later.

Overnight, detectives from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit Major Crime Team have been working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

    A

18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.

As the investigation continues, police will be carrying out a number enquiries – including reviewing CCTV and speaking to people who were in the area at the time.

An appeal is also being made for anyone with information or mobile phone or dash cam footage to come forward.

As a member of staff at DMU please don’t believe what they have said about supporting staff and students. We’ve had no communication about this at all. In fact the only communication has been about where to park because of the road closures. They haven’t addressed this AT ALL. Staff are pissed off, and are becoming increasingly concerned about their own safety. I was walking to the bus stop yesterday at this time not 50m away.
