Nessun punto per smørrebrød: fa freddo e cerco specificamente cibo caldo che ti faccia venire voglia di sdraiarti dopo.

  4. For warm comfort food? I would go with Paprika Gryde. However, I am a sucker for Stegt Flæsk, and would probably order that 9 out of 10 times 🇩🇰

    Bøfsandwich, but only if it’s made the correct way drenched in rich brown sauce.

    Frikadeller, brun sovs og kartofler if you’re in Jutland. Some variation of pork with parsley sauce if youre in the capital

  7. If you’re looking to maximize the wanting-to-lie-down-afterwards effect, then I think you’d better go with either *brændende kærlighed* or *stegt flæsk*. Both are mainly comprised of pork and potatoes.

    *Brændende kærlighed* is mashed potatoes topped with crispy bacon and soft, caramelized onion, garnished with parsley and served with a side of pickled beetroot and Danish rye bread.

    *Stegt flæsk* is strips of crispy, thick-cut bacon, served with boiled, peeled potatoes and a parsley sauce.

    All the parsley in the Stegt Flæsk makes it a salad. So its also the healthy choice

    I’m sad for you that you missed out on the porkcheeks this week, that is probably the best tasting of the list imo – but that doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy stegt flæsk, karbonader or biksemad 🙂

    It has to be tarteletter, but all the online recipes will probably make it wrongly. Don’t listen to the cream enjoyer’s, the chicken is the primary taste of tarteletter and it will carry it – but you need a whole chicken.

    Gule ærter is an awesome dish as well, however I actually prefer the dutch version, erwtensoepe.

    You can never go wrong with a nice boller i karry. It won’t blow your mind, but it’s comforting.

    It’s not on this list but my favourite is stjerneskud, a danish take on a seafood platter

    Mørbradgryde is the dish I always associate with my grandmother and the long dark winter days. She made this often and now I make it as well and it’s the best meal in winter.
