The siege was a factor in ending the American Revolutionary War – the Peace of Paris negotiations were reliant on news from the siege, particularly at its climax.

At three years, seven months and twelve days, it is the longest siege endured by the British Armed Forces.

The American Revolutionary War was the sideshow to the Anglo-French/Dutch/Spanish wars.

  3. Now just think of the RAW power the UK would of had if this shit wasnt going on. America would not be what it is today

How the hell did spain and france not overcome gibraltar? Like i cant wrap my mind around it, its a small city basically, surrounded by the spanish, 1000s of km away from mainland UK, so completely dependent on exporting and importing on the spanish.

If they re so good at it how has the UK not retained hong kong?
