      It’s interesting, 2 days ago Zack Polanski was publicly reprimanded by the Police Federation of England, by putting out a celebratory tweet after the Elbit break-in trial, which included a failure to reach a verdict for an activist who broke a policewoman’s spine with a sledgehammer. Here’s Polanski’s tweet on Twitter:

      > Pleased to see the jury make this decision.

      > We need to have eyes wide open this is exactly why the Government wants to abolish juries.

      > People protesting against a genocide are not the criminals here – it’s the politicians who continue to provide cover.

      And here’s part of the Police Federation statement:

      > “Police officers are not political actors. They are public servants enforcing the law impartially, often in highly charged and confrontational environments. When officers are seriously injured in the line of duty, basic empathy and recognition should transcend political positions. Public figures carry influence. How harm is acknowledged or overlooked sends a signal to those policing future protests. Empathy costs nothing. Its absence can have serious consequences.”

      I’ve been watching the news waiting to see who reports on the story, so far it is only The Jewish Chronicle, Jewish News, the Daily Telegraph and the Daily Mail. There was zero coverage on the BBC, or any of the mainstream newspapers.

      And then what does come out are headlines like this which are basically press releases. I think that pretty comprehensively contradicts the idea that the BBC is biased against the Greens.

      Edit: Fair points below that the verdict on GBH was a failure to reach a verdict, not an acquittal, I corrected that.

      I live in Denton and I’ve received piles of election material. The Green’s leaflets are:

      * Let’s teach Starmer a lesson.
      * Don’t vote for Reform.
      * Our candidate is a plumber from Manchester.

      That’s it. No policies. No positivity. No hope. No point.
