      He had a “valid work permit” for two decades? How does that work. 

      And how do you live somewhere for twenty years, marry a citizen and still not bother to get citizenship for yourself.

      He lived and worked for 20 years and applied for a green card a work visa last year? Things don’t add up, many questions could be asked, but wasn’t.

      The surprise here is that this dude is white and a native English speaker from EUROPE (yes, ICE and the current government are just a gang of racists), and still ICE detained him and subjected him to the same inhumane treatment that all the other detainees. Nobody is safe in the US these days.

      Can ICE does that stuff or can this people at least get a compensation?

      And the Irish PM is going to the Whitehouse on St Patrick’s Day and will no doubt say nothing.

      FYI: in the US a work permit does NOT grant legal immigration status. Work permits are issued generally for 3 or 5 years and require that you maintain legal immigration status.

      You can have a valid work permit, and be an illegal immigrant at the same time; which is what happened here.

      I’m too afraid to visit the US nowadays even as a tourist. ICE agents apparently receive little to no training and judging by JD Vance’s attitude, anti-Europeism seems to be a real thing. In this case, why hasn’t the Irish governement or the EU done anything for this guy?!

      The concentration camp owners are making a lot of money out of their prisoners. There is no incentive to let them out.

      good there r hundreds of thousands from europe and ireland coming on esta and overstaying. they should go too.
