Plebiscits under bombing and when part of population is kept in orcish prisons, under occupation or 6 feet under? Sure that will earn the Cheeto the Nobel prize. Or new play pretend FIFA prize.
So the Russo-Usain axis was able to force Ukraine into submission… I am sure Putin won’t do something as despicable as specifically bombing areas with the most pro-ukrainian stance in order to prevent them to go to the polling stations.
As an European, I am ashamed we weren’t able to support Ukraine more.

The detail on the peace deal will be crucial really. As long as it enables the unoccupied parts of Ukraine to remain adequately defended against renewed Russian aggression then I think it will probably be acceptable.
The only reason Zelensky has to put up with Trump so much is because they are the only agent that’s working on a deal. The fact that Europe just let it happen is shameful. If Zelensky didn’t think that US support is critical, and that he could do it with Europe alone, he would’ve already ditched him.

Adding to that: yesterday, Kremlin Foreign Minister Lavrov stated that no one had provided Russia with the draft 20-point peace agreement that Ukraine, the EU, and the US had been working on over the past month—and that Moscow is operating on the basis of the original 28-point framework agreed with Washington last year.
In other words, classic Byzantine tactics: Russia will later claim it was operating from a completely different document, and whatever Ukraine does under U.S. pressure—well, that’s their problem, not Russia’s.

I swear none of you read articles. This is reliant on the people of Ukraine voting on it.
The fact that people are all “this is Europe’s fault!” is very telling of why there is no unity in Europe. Here’s a wild idea, maybe blame USA for voting in a dictator and giving him unlimited power? And if you insist on shifting blame on Europe, at least try to explain what specific things should European countries (and which countries specifically) could have made to avoid this?
And after that take a deep breath and consider for one second in your social media ruined attention span that Russia will never accept a peace deal that allows Ukraine to maintain and rebuild it’s standing army, nor will Ukraine ever vote for a deal that doesn’t allow the same. So it’s all for show. Now relax, and worry about real things in life, of which there are plenty.

would such election and referendum be even constitutional when lots of UA citizens are in the temporary occupied areas like Crimea and Donbas, where, i assume, orks wont allow for the election and referendum to be held?

Good luck on the referendum though, Russia is known to love those.
This is perhaps one of the last times for Europe to increase support of Ukraine – for the sake of our futures, by limiting Putin’s power over the region.
Trump allegedly already has the plans to re-engage with Russia and is eager to profit from that. That appears to be his motivation, and therefore strengthening Russia is in Trump’s best interests.
This allows Putin of course to be rewarded for his invasion but, crucially keeps him in his position of power and wealth, with support of Trump and US businesses.
Europeans should be aware and cautious at this time, and demonstrate that we have a stake in this too.
Because the Trump admin literally threatened to invade Greenland, made critical threats about Europe’s politics in their recent NSS document, and is invested in the right-wing extremism of European politics.
And because Putin has demonstrated he is an obvious and hostile threat to European countries and the EU as an institution. Europe is facing hostility on all sides and must ensure Ukraine at least remains neutral, sovereign, and integrated (not isolated).
What leverage do the Americans have to pressure him at this point? They stopped sending intelligence, guns or ammo, so what is it?
I wonder how they will handle voting for people residing outside Ukraine, especially Russia.
