    Highlighting what they claim are ‘regulatory barriers’ to effective taxi transport, based on surveys of how random people feel around the country is absolutely bizarre.

    It’s not real research, and they seem to be completely ignoring both the safety aspect and the ramifications of expanding the gig economy to ride hailing.

    I’m not particularly impressed with CCPC at the best of times, but this is a new low.

    If the existing taxi drivers won’t or can’t provide adequate service it has to be looked at.

    Yes, rather than these shitty apps, let’s have centres for taxi apps depending on area, and you can ring them to tell an operator when and where you want a driver to pick you up and drive you to! /s

    There is one part time taxi driver in my town.

    Getting between towns is so expensive I just don’t bother and go home early on the bus
