Il nuovo orario aumenta il tempo necessario per viaggiare tra Ginevra e Losanna ed elimina i treni tra Bienne e Ginevra. Inoltre, l’IR90 che fa da Ginevra a Vallese ha ancora i vagoni molto vecchi.       It’s very easy. The infrastructure has reached both capacity and end of life in many places. It is not possible to mantain the lines without reducing the capacity. On top of that, in the last and next years a lot of new infrastructure projects are being built all across Switzerland: this means that the maintenance costs will further increase in the future because of the increased assets. Unfortunately the financing of maintenance is not politically “sexy”. The politicians will always prefer to say: “look at this new fancy connection/station/tunnel/whatsoever I made SBB build!” instead of saying “thanks to our financing the SBB infrastructure is resilient, efficient and safe. Nothing new to report, all runs smooth”.

    2. Currently, Romandie is stuck with infrastructure behind, which means nearly every major station needs to be renovated. Fribourg is in work, Lausanne had so many issues they need to do an update to their orignal plans to count for the situation in 10+ years.
