Politicians love to shove their names on plaques. Any excuse

Sir John sounded like a pos maybe the quay should have been unveiled with a new name while they were at it.

Is that classed as “pulling a fast one”?

I could argue the plaque was unveiled in 2012 by Naoise. Niche argument

The side street it used to be located on is called Admiral Brown Walk if I remember correctly. I remember when it was there originally.

Why the hell is this in Dublin and not Foxford in Mayo where Brown originated from?.

Did Admiral Brown fight for the liberation of the Malvina`s? ..

Was admiral brown a mercenary or was he hired as a consultant as we would say today. Presumably ex royal navy in that he was trained to run ships. An interesting story.

The politician himself likely didn’t even know it wasnt a new statue, nevermind the backstory. Someone in the Council would have been responsible for the plaques and probably just discarded or recycled the old one. Lazy work more likely than any other culprit here.
