It’s a huge number compared to the Greenland military contingent, but very few compared to the more than 1,000 km front line.
I mean, that’s great, but sending them now would be a good idea.
maybe send all 5000 men to the contested territories in Donbass so that the frontline isn’t too thin for them, but in all fairness, 5000 men is only enough for like a week given the casualty of the war
Moves like this are not primarily supposed to create massively trooped defense line but to deter Russia in the way „if you attack Ukraine, you attack France and UK likewise“. The real numbers are secondary
