Shareholders profits, families’ pain. FF/FG have made their choice.

I own my own house but I would happily join a protest against these changes. I’m shocked we are not out on the street like the water charges.

But surely our new left leaning President, who swept to power thanks to the backing of the left alliance, won’t ratify this legislation….

What… she already has, I for one am shocked.

Won’t somebody PLEASE think of the shareholders.   Thank God for FG.

I literally despair for my kids. They will need to emigrate like my Dad did in the 80s. Except one emigration was poverty driven and one emigration will be policy driven

If this doesnt convince people not to vote for the FFG axis then we are fucked as a country. Rich getting richer.,

This was brought to you by left wing independent Barry Heneghan who claimed he entered government to represent his generation locked out of the housing market.

    The fucking dope

So all small LLs exit the market and big companies take over.

My father had a house in flats I manage it badly for my mother since he died. I was on the phone to the RTB this morning about a problem registering a tenancy and ask the guy on the call about the new rules. They’re swamped with calls.

It’s going to get ugly over th next 18 months I reckon.

I live abroad and lease out my house to a friend on mates rates because the job opportunity of a lifetime came up – when he leaves end of this year I have no choice but to sell and exit the market because no way could I afford to be locked out of my own place or sell with a tenant in situ for 6 years and I’ve no interest in taking the mick and charging ridiculous rent.

I know I’m very privileged and there might be a bit of tone-deafness to my situation, but it seems like the only winners in this one are the large scale landlords from this bill.

I actually could not believe what I was seeing when these changes were announced. Really seems like everything about them is designed to fuck renters as hard as possible.

Lucky for me I was looking to buy a house at the time and was successful later, but this really stuck a rocket up my ass and told me to double my efforts because renting in Ireland is hellish.

FFGers voting for this and then wondering why their children are all heading to Australia or Canada. They just can’t quite see the correlation but their house is worth half a mil so everything must be hunky dory

Good to see even before it’s come out that the moneybags already realise it’s going to benefit them

This is just going back to the way the market used to operate before rent pressure zones. Before them things were a lot better. They caused huge issues but people seem mad we’re going back to a time when it was easier to find a rental because someone else might make a slightly bigger yield. People need to pick what they want
