La Francia ha raggiunto un surplus commerciale nelle esportazioni di energia elettrica di 92,3 TWh nell’intero 2025. (Frecce blu e numeri = Esportazioni / Frecce viola e numeri = Importazioni / Numeri neri = Saldi)

Nice. And a new interconnector with Ireland is under construction. I’m sure others are in the works. France is a bit of a socket for Europe.
The most important part is that because every one of those neighbors have a dirtier electric production, the more they import, the better for the environment, which is pretty nice.
It’s missing some information: total production was 544 TWh, so exports actually represented 17% of production. It would be nice to have the percentages for each country as well. For example for the UK it represented a 7% of consumption.
Italy in the ’80s: we don’t want nuclear plants because they are so scawwy
Italy for the following 40 years: hey France may I borrow some of that extra power you have? How come do you always have so much just lying around?
The trade with Iberian Peninsula is mostly an excess exchange (when either grid is overloading). Eletricity is much cheaper here, and this map shows exactly why France does not let more of our energy to flow to the rest of Europe.
I wonder how much of France’s nuclear energy in Germany then gets transported over to Poland.
