Whatever your stance on drug policy, the numbers are pretty stark people are going to use either way, and this pilot seems to be keeping them alive long enough to get support. Curious what people think would you be happy to have a facility like this in your area?

That’s 270 overdoses where help was readily available and didn’t lead to a death

That’s great. But is it getting people off drugs?
These facilities are all grand if the end result is less junkies around town.

It shouldn’t be about maintaining someone’s chaotic lifestyle where they’re begging and engaged in criminality to feed a destructive habit.
They still must get their drugs somewhere, and that will often involve theft from other people, stealing and shoplifting.

I live in the area and walk by here most mornings. It’s not a great sight, and I pity the local businesses who have so much drug use in their doorstep.
And the tourists and those new to Dublin who see this as their first impression of Dublin.
