This is a misleading, shit-stirring title. The article is about Kazakhstan and a Kazakh-American oil consortium that was using Novorossiysk as a pipeline transfer point.
Ukraine does not have any issue with Kazakhstan so it makes sense to bring this up diplomatically. That is not really a controversial event.
Of course as the Flamingos start to fly it would also be a good idea to develop replacement logistics that do not depend on Russian strategic targets as bottlenecks to resource flows. So Ukraine may be doing Kazakhstan a favor in the long run.
Then the US can support Ukraine to end this war faster.
