Multiple specialists have advised against it, as it presents an enormous risk for the tapestry itself, and no measures proposed have seemed enough to guarantee its safe transportation.
It’s a stupid, political move regarding a priceless artifact.

I had no idea the Bayeux Tapestry was so big.
Unrelated, are the rooms behind the advertising billboard inhabited? I can’t imagine people wanting/being allowed to live in windowless rooms. Unless they’re businesses/storefronts with artificial lighting.

Yeah, they are going to damage it for this stupid show.
It is 1000 year old embroidery with number of repairs done to it through the centuries. Also extremely large and heavy and frail.

The UK can exchange the tapestry for the Elgin Marbles. Everyone should be happy with that.
