One other, much better way, would be to stop feeding the chickens antibiotics. It is not like that will ever fly inside the EU market…

That’s stupid. It’s not Moldova’s fault we had metronidazole in exported chicken.
Though not surprising given who we elected in 2019. There are far dumber internal economic decisions our government made.

>Ukraine claims that this is an adequate step
This doesn’t look like an adequate step at all, I hate this “eye for an eye” shit in trade especially when we are talking about food safety. Maybe they should investigate how this food for chicken (or whatever that was) passed our safety inspection first, because the fact that it wasn’t detected in Ukraine may be because of corruption.
>We have been trying for weeks to resolve issues within the working groups. But we received from ANSA outright sabotage and an attempt to humiliate our state bodies.
Something tells me it wasn’t at all about humiliation. Very fishy.

Have they considered imposing stricter contols instead of fully banning items in an already tensioned market? Negotiating is usually the best alternative. In times like these you better have as many friends as possible, even more when it’s already under Russian influence.

“Source” quotes ahhh rbc.ua, very credible, yes. Fun fact – RBC is short for RUSSIA Business Consulting.
But yes, keep on consuming “credible” information like both countries wount be in the same trade block with same food standards anyway.

Ukraine’s safety regulations are, at best, loose, and that is solely their own responsibility, I’m afraid. You can retaliate as much as you want, but that’s the reality you cannot escape if you desire EU membership. Moldova, at least, is trying to take some steps in that direction and establish some food safety standards that could let them export products.

“We messed up, but it’s your fault.”
This sounds like sour grapes.

Moldovan agriculture ministry denies this. Here’s the link to official press release on their site https://maia.gov.md/ro/content/6482
