Iran has been mindlessly attacking everyone around. This is a massive escalation if those missiles were truly targeting the SBAs, as that is NATO territory.
Sigh, thanks Trump. This kinda thing really highlights the inadequacy of UK GBAD. We moved Typhoon and F-35 to Cyprus ahead of the strike and they can be capable defensive platforms, but really the place needs a Sky Sabre battery _at least_.

Unfortunately Cyprus is no stranger to missile strikes from the rest of the Mid East, whether intentional or not.

It’s funny that we in the West see ourselves as democratic (*dēmos* ‘people’ and *krátos* ‘rule’) but governments constantly implement extremely unpopular actions with 70-80% disapproval, like this war or mass immigration. Clearly the people are not in control.

Even if the attack wasn’t intentional it could have been devastating if these missiles had landed in Cyprus. Good thing the UK were prepared well in advance to shoot down overflying missiles.
