We already have a Nordic state-union. One of the most tight-knit state-clubs on the planet, just not a supranational state alliance like the EU or a united-state-republic like the US.
We don’t want to be one country. We like the arrangement we have already. We can move anywhere within the Nordics independent of the EU and have been able to do so since 1954, so for much longer than the EU has existed.
An alliance sure, but why would we enter a union? All the countries are culturally distinct and have a long history of independence, with only relatively short unions (the longest being Norway and Iceland under Denmark, but even then at least Norway was a distinctly separate country to Denmark
