      It’s not a bad idea. In terms of celebrations I move we also have Eid Pride where all the LGBTQ+ Muslims have a day to celebrate.

      Just remember to read the labels. Easter eggs don’t count as chocolate anymore and don’t buy any that use palm oil

      A date or Dubai chocolate flavour Eid egg would be a perfectly sensible commercial choice, and a huge opportunity for exporting to Islamic markets.

      From the POV of a chocolate company, this is as good of a reason as any.

      The outrage by some people is so selective, if I was some right wing Christian, I would be more pissed off that chocolate companies like Cadbury have ruined the message behind Easter by the crass commercailsation. I may even ask “why is it only the Christian hoildays that get ruined? Is Big Chocolate too scared to comercailse Muslim hoildays? “

      I genuinely would not care if they were. Oh no, one more chocolate egg on the shelf? Where will all the creme eggs and creme egg whites and mini eggs and Biscoff eggs and Terry’s Chocolate Orange eggs and Reese’s peanut butter eggs go? Simply too many types of eggs, we can’t have one more!

      my missus’s Thai spa is in a high percentage muslim area and she’s doing an ‘Eid special offer’ – it makes business sense to run promotions during celebratory festivals. I thought all these right whingers were pro business, pro free market economics

      I’m not Muslim and I’d buy an Eid egg. Everyone loves a chocolate egg. Cadbury should make an Eid egg if only for the Kafir who like chocolate.
