More than 200 rape survivors will be waiting years to even have a chance of seeing justice. This isn’t acceptable.
There are rapists who have spent longer free while waiting for a verdict than they will in prison once they finally get one.

I’m a bit disturbed that all the commentary in that article seems to pre-suppose that all the people awaiting trial are guilty, and the whole process is about the alleged victims waiting for justice. Because true as that is, a fair chunk of the accused will be not guilty, and the impact on them is pretty awful as well.
About what I’d expect of UK reporting, though, as it doesn’t have the best grasp on the legal system.
