>Revealed: Tilray Brands, a US-based consumer goods group, is close to signing a roughly £40m deal to buy most of BrewDog’s assets including some bars, breweries and beer brands through a pre-pack administration, with a transaction expected to be announced later today.
£40M seems very cheap for their brand and IP.

I know the company has its issues, but their restaurant bar here is quite nice, one of the only decent places to get a burger or wings in town. Hopefully the same goes through and the bars remain open

The only people I know who drink Brewdog these days are the boomers looking for an alternative to Doom Bar. They are having a tough week.

I, for one, will spend all my money on PUNK IPA and in their bars now I know that bell end is not in charge.

Shame but not surprising given the troubles they have had.
I know they arent cool in the beer scene anymore but lots of us were introduced to beers other than cheap lager by Brewdog and I certainly wouldnt have ended up liking the multitude of beers and independent breweries I do without that initial start. But I’ve not been in one for years (bar the Edinburgh Airport one) so when you lose your core audience you are obviously going to struggle.
Also worth saying it isnt just about the owner / reputation – they are also a great example of a brand who expanded way beyond what was sensible IMO. Does Bristol for example need two within a 13 min walk of each other?

Left them a year ago and said they didn’t have long left.
Feel for my friends who found the news out today. They dealt with it terribly.

Fuck I’m gutted. We do their quiz every Tuesday and it’s fucking brilliant. The bar has said today it’s closing with immediate effect. Gutted for everyone who worked there.
