sul subreddit Mapporncirclejerk, le persone spesso pubblicano i confini del loro mondo fantastico, e una cosa che succede sempre è combinare i Paesi Bassi con le Fiandre, la Francia con la Vallonia e la parte di lingua tedesca con la Germania, senza capire veramente che non esiste una vera storia comune delle Fiandre con i Paesi Bassi (a meno che non si parli di Borgogna, che è più importante quando parte dei Paesi Bassi facevano parte della Borgogna governata da Bruxelles/Lovanio). o la Vallonia con la Francia.
quindi ho creato un controposto, con i confini belgi che hanno un po’ più senso; storicamente e culturalmente. È satira e sono ben consapevole che la storia è molto più sfumata e complessa per sostenere questa mappa. ma ha molto più senso che combinare i Paesi Bassi con le Fiandre.

Not really, there was a reason Brabant was split in 2.
I had made a previous post. However, I took another map, because the previous one included Zeeland, and there is very little historical reason to include that in a fantastical greater Belgium.
someone made a comment on the previous post, and apologies for deleting the post and not interacting with what you said.
You forgot that French inland dent in the Namur province.
Unironically, I think a united BW-BXL-VL.B as the third region would be a good thing, splitting these was a mistake.

I feel it’s a bit lazy, mostly just using existing borders/provinces and throwing some stuff together.
For example, historically and culturally, Maastricht and surroundings are more linked to Liège than to the rest of Limburg.
Zeeland would make sense, until you read about how it came to be: it was The Dutch who reclaimed the land from the sea. So, it was never Belgian, not even in the old days because it barely existed.
At first, this felt right. And then, I realised we would get both Marine Le Pen and Geert Wilders. Is that really worth it?
Kind of sad that Picardish would become a national language, but not Walloon haha
