Should’ve done it before Fico, there was a window of opportunity.

There are 37 days left until the elections. Find a temporary solution.

In the meantime, please treat Orbán as what he is. A troll you shouldn’t bother answering. Zelensky playing word karate with the swine does exactly the opposite of what he’s hoping for. It helps him in his efforts to stay in power.

Proportionally adjust the value based on what Hungary’s ‘contribution’ to the pot would have been and then exclude their vote and release the vast majority of the €90B

  4. What an idiotic move by Zelensky, though. All it does is help Orban get reelected, and I highly doubt that is the objective.

Edit: you can downvote all you want, that is the consensus here in the opposition media. The opposition was cruising to a decisive victory to finally get rid of Orban after 16 years, then comes Zelensky with his idiotic threats and blockade. Can you please just shut up about Hungary for the next 35 days?

It,s time to kick him out of EU and take Ukraina in . He is a despot and have nothing to do in EU .

It’s enough. The “opposition” is also anti-Ukrainian. Time for a forced Hunxit. For the time being with Article 7 (taking away voting and membership rights), and after adapting the EU charters by introducing an expulsion clause, officially kick them out, close all borders and extradite Hungarians from Europe. We don’t want wannabe Russians.

The reality is, they have a veto. There is no solution.

The eu system is broken. We should just go around it and give the money as individual states.

Kick Hungary out of the EU. We won’t be missing them?

The solution: wait until April 12. Orbán will be voted out of power.

They are one of the largest net benefactors of EU funding. Seems pretty straightforward, start to reduce that funding until the pain brings them back in line.

Kick them out. Then give Ukraine the money. Enough of these fifth column wankers.

Pretty dumb to make our union facist friendly like that huh. Must be by design

if only they bothered to think about this sort of thing before dragging in as many countries as they could.

the veto system worked when it was half a dozen

EU is like the UN. Has no real power to do anything but talk.

Well its easy, vote to suspend Hungary’s voting power via Article 7.

And yet the Hungarians remain no closer to getting Transylvania back.

You can just ignore the veto and go ahead btw, it’s literally all made up rules. It’s not gravity, where you can’t make objects fall upwards instead of downwards.

European countries can collectively just go ahead and ignore the veto. Hungary resorts to the Court? Ignore it or make sure the judges stall long enough.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

  18. This really makes you lose hope in the EU, how can they be so inflexible that Putin effectively has veto rights in our decisions several years into the war?

  19. I think the best solution is to start an expulsion procedure against Hungary and, while it’s being processed, suspend its political rights

Why can’t western countries like France, Germany, etc. just send the aid directly? No EU vote needed, just put the money pot together and send it to Ukraine.
