**Ukrainian bank announces legal steps to return property illegally seized by Budapest**

State Oschadbank demands that Hungary return in full the $40 million, €35 million and 9 kg of bank gold, as well as the collection vehicles illegally seized by Hungary.

Oshchad said it would appeal the decision of the Hungarian migration service to restrict the cash collection team’s stay in the European Union and announced a “detailed review” of the violation of Ukrainians’ rights: they were detained for more than a day and denied access to legal aid and consular support.

“The second direction is to take legal steps to return the bank’s property… The full scope of information and supporting documents has been submitted to the National Bank. To further confirm its legal position, the bank will turn to one of the leading international companies to conduct an independent audit of the processes and contractual relations between all parties involved in the transportation of funds and valuables,”

Hungary first stated the cash collectors were detained on suspicion of money laundering, and later began to spread the version that the Ukrainians were allegedly carrying funds “for possible connection with the Ukrainian military mafia.”

The Ukrainian bank states that the funds were transported under an international agreement between it and the Austrian Raiffeisen, and the cargo was cleared in accordance with international rules and European customs procedures.
