I think the Americans have already said this openly a hundred times: they have countries in Europe that they favor more.
    Which means there are others.

And they don’t like the EU because, individually, EU countries are weaker than the US.
So people are only just now realizing that the US is an enemy of the EU?

No offense, but from a Chinese perspective, the EU’s diplomacy might be among the worst in the world—arguably even worse than India’s. It always says the nicest things, yet ends up taking the hardest hits.

The entire foreign policy history of USA has been to hinder and limit the formation of competitive blocks of power. As Europe federalizes the more hostile the transatlantic relationship will become.

    Well, yeah. Hello.

    America first, remember?

Weak Europe is good for America and at least since trump that’s obvious they don’t mind having Europe weak.

Are you for example aware that the immigration crisis we had in last two decades is mostly because of the USA and their shit stirring strategy in the middle east?

    We know.

They’ve been telling us that for about a year now.

The US has always wanted “to keep the Russians out, the Americans in, and the Germans down”

  8. Estrucean on

Cool, so lets start prosecuting politicians with foreign connections?

Kallas and Von Der Leyen support if Isreal and a genocide is doing the heavy lifting on dividing Europeans

  10. Nytalith on

Divide et impera. They didn’t even come up with that strategy but took it from European 😉

  11. Then-Potato-2020 on

Really? how did you get to that conclusion? Maybe because Musk and the likes said it LITERALLY?

  12. Europe will divide itself, I fear. Hungary and Slovakia on one side and the rest of Europe on the other.

Putin-adjacent USA, yes of course they do

    they want whatever Russia wants

Well its good to have EU politicians repeat this, but the US put it in black and white in their own national security strategy.

    [2025-National-Security-Strategy.pdf](https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/2025-National-Security-Strategy.pdf)

    >We want to support our allies in preserving the freedom and security of Europe, while restoring Europe’s civilizational self-confidence and Western identity;

    >America encourages its political allies in Europe to promote this revival of spirit, and the growing influence of patriotic European parties indeed gives cause for great optimism

Yeah it means exactly what it sounds like

Divide Europe, Russia and China; acquiring Venezuela, Greenland, and then Canada (or even Iceland? ), Trump will make USA to be big Rome?

  16. Artifexa on

Oh, she finally realized, about 10 years late.

Now let’s wait when she realizes Russia and China are in the same plot. Perhaps when Europe finally breaks, and she’s fired from her “nepobaby job” she will realize.

  17. MiguelIstNeugierig on

Kallas tells the world she has read the public memo from the US adminstration boasting about wanting to demolish the EU and subjugated Europe

EU is a big mess already, trumps remarks are just gasoline put on fire.

I want EU to be succesful, but right now it is a complete joke. The EU itself had members with different responses regarding US bombing Iran, then add another 27 positions from every leader of states within EU and you got a real shitshow.
Every country within puts their own needs above what EU needs(mercosour, ukraine loan, attitude towards US) and it always seems like EU is just one problem away from getting their shit in order. And when that problem hits, same old shit happens and you are left dissapointed. Greenland was a wakee up call but then after one Rubio speech some members went back to dreaming.

US is actively working to divide Europe. It treats it as a rival and not an ally. This predates Trump but has cranked up a level.

  20. paraglidingCH on

Why the surprise? Throughout my lifetime US governments have been interested only in the US. The difference we have now is that we have a transactional, far right US administration that cannot see beyond the immediate, and a US president that is more interested in himself than his responsibilities.

So in short, this US administration is making it plain what we should have all known all along: The US is, at best, a fair weather friend, and right now not at all.

Our choice is between servitude or independence from Washington.

Realistically, our orange monkey king has united Europe more than Russia ever did. Gave them a new common enemy

  22. SS_wypipo on

This seems to also be what the EU wants. Based on their actions, not their words.

  23. Garderanz1 on

Europe consumed more mixed energy this year than fossil, we showing a different way ahead and they shutting it down.

  24. ValiumBlues on

    Good luck with that.

Focus on your own shithole; let us deal with our problems here. Turns out that slowly de-coupling from the US isn’t as painful as a lot of Europeans thought.

  25. Hear me out: let’s kick out all Americans from Europe. We had enough of these egos.
