Il ministro degli Esteri polacco Radosław Sikorski ha espresso una nota critica a Bruxelles, affermando che è “un po’ inquietante” sentire il presidente degli Stati Uniti Donald Trump riferirsi alla NATO come “loro” anziché “noi” mentre esorta gli alleati europei ad aiutare a riaprire lo Stretto di Hormuz.
Parlando prima dei colloqui di lunedì con i colleghi ministri degli Esteri a Bruxelles, Sikorski ha anche sottolineato l’opzione della Turchia di cercare consultazioni ai sensi dell’articolo 4 della NATO, affermando che finora non è stata avviata alcuna procedura di alleanza.
