Didn’t meet the guy but he drove past my gaff between rally stages years back. He gave me a wave and I remember running back inside to tell my parents. Must have been 30 odd years back. He was a massive rally enthusiast and handy enough by all accounts.

I remember him as a fresh faced young fellow hosting RTEs coverage of the Olympic games in Los Angeles in 1984. RIP Michael.

The face of the Sunday game for my Childhood & late Adulthood.. met him at a few rally’s down through the years and was always an absolute gentleman to have a chat with & loved his GAA. One of life’s gentleman 😰
