      Terrible news, a great servant of the GAA and public broadcaster. Had the pleasure of meeting him once and he was absolutely lovely.

      Didn’t meet the guy but he drove past my gaff between rally stages years back. He gave me a wave and I remember running back inside to tell my parents. Must have been 30 odd years back. He was a massive rally enthusiast and handy enough by all accounts.

      I was never a GAA person but undoubtedly a massive part of telly growing up in the 90s 

      71 is too young to die, R.I.P

      I remember him as a fresh faced young fellow hosting RTEs coverage of the Olympic games in Los Angeles in 1984. RIP Michael.

      The face of the Sunday game for my Childhood & late Adulthood.. met him at a few rally’s down through the years and was always an absolute gentleman to have a chat with & loved his GAA. One of life’s gentleman 😰
