Should be a very simple:

if they’ve been convicted of indictable offence then public interest supersedes human rights of the migrant and their family and they can be deported.

There’s too much ambiguity and wiggle room in the law, and the judiciary seem to be hell bent on using that discretionary power to let everyone stay here. So that discretion needs to be taken away.
