      If in any doubt, contact the police yourself on the official landline number.

      I think the odds of this being a scam are very close to 100%

      as for my experience (idk the rest), I have been called by the police themselves to give a witness account of something, however, I was informed beforehand by the victim and the police station that I will be contacted and also I was the one who sent my personal details to them.

      Screams like a scam if you haven’t been involved on anything, best practice would be to entertain them and come back with what they told u lol

      To be covered, in case someone calls and says they are the police get their name, badge number and station they work, hang up and call the station to ask.

      98% calls from cellphones are scams.
