I’d been really looking forward to this meeting, and you can tell from the video (I’m smiling as if there were no war in the country). The meeting was very brief; Andriy arrived by bus from the front, picked up his repaired T3, and after a coffee he was already on his way back to Pokrovsk. But I was genuinely glad to see him, even if only for a short while. The situation at the front is tough; the war is exhausting. Andriy started smoking in the fourth year of the war. He says it was after he’d gathered his dear friend from three pieces into one packet. He’d never smoked in his life, and here he’s had three cigarettes in such a short time. I really want to thank John, Dawn, Karin, Sandy, Leonard, Janet, Kent, Don, Oleg, Michael, Johannes, Matthias, David and Tessa, thanks to whom I bought all the items in the video and passed them on to Andriy. Andriy says that right now there’s a drone war; no matter how tough a soldier or strong a man you are, you’re powerless against drones. Almost all the casualties are due to drones; whoever has the better drones wins.
