Right call from Starmer deploying troops into Iran is bonkers, bigger than Iraq more mountains the Afghan and a population of 93 Million that can put a million man army in the field. A ground invasion is not going to end well and we are well out of it.

It didn’t take him long to bend the knee to the US when it came to bases, so forgive me if I don’t hold out much hope of him keeping his word here.
Meanwhile Spain has banned all US aircraft being used for offensive action against Iran from their airspace. Setting an example that only makes Starmer look even more pathetic

Just last year Starmer said he wanted British boots on the ground in Ukraine, he’s looking for his war still just the Iran war isn’t the one for him

He says that like there’s much of an army left to send.

This shit show does not require our troops to be sacrificed.
There will be splashback of that we can be sure and it will be down to sensible nations to fix what gets broken.
…..not the god bothering, bring on the apocalypse for Jesus window lickers in the USA or the settlers wanting more land in Israel.

Good, let the Americans fight their own bullshit wars. Don’t think they will be so keen when they see their friends and family trying to escape FPV drones in a war they didn’t even need to fight. Certainly not a fate I want to see for British soldiers.
That being said, I can imagine UK special forces might end up in the country at some point, but obviously this is not something they are going to be open to the general public about. This war is going to last a good few years if the US puts boots on the ground and keeps them their without withdrawing. My main concern would be that Labour loose the next general election and we end up with a government that are more willing to commit British troops.

Starmer has been consistently knocking it out of the park recently. So glad he’s the one in charge here.

I think we’re about to witness one of the biggest strategic blunders in modern Warfare by the US, next to Russia’s ongoing “3 day special military operation”

I’ve not been his biggest fan, but recently he has started to win me over with the shit he’s had to put up with from Trump whilst not giving into his demands. And rightly so!

Our little force would be almost useless anyway, like an episode of dad’s army.

What troops though… We’ve got fuck all and no easy way to deploy them. Hell, even by air we were making noises of disbanding a Parachute regiment or battalion, cos other than bailing out the SAS quietly, they don’t do large scale paradrops like we did back in WWII.

It’s not just stupid, it would be actively against our own interest, just to pander to other nations. No serious leader would do that.
Then, there is Blair, Truss, Kemi, Nigel or Boris who are working for themselves by dick riding the US. Appaling.

Whilst I definitely don’t want to see British Troops involved, mainly because they’ll probably have to share a gun between three of them and likely breakdown on their way there, I am still a little shocked to see European nations so quickly turn on an ally. An ally, who by their own admission, has provided security for the region for the last three decades plus.
It almost as if the EU grifted off of the US tax-payer, and now wants see the back of them just because America put a stop to that grift.
For the record, Chancellor Merz confirmed the above last year when he said, and I quote; “the EU has been a free-riders of US tax-payer to provided security and defense

This is an illegal war without congressional approval or international support, so the UK and other NATO allies should rightly have no part in it. Let Trump and Netanyahu fight their own illegal war.

Good. What ever you think of Iran and it’s leadership, USA and Israel started this war on their own, and then flip flop between asking allies to join in, to insulting us and saying we’re irrelevant.
If they wanted a grand coalition to join them, they should have done it properly at the start, not trying to drag us in after the fact.
Id still have been against us joining, but they still should have done it properly

Why should he? I’m not his biggest fan by no means but this is the right call and any sensible person would agree, if Israel wont commit their own forces in a war they wanted, why tf should anyone else get involved?.

Absolutely agree for once, but like Trump an important future election will likely render him powerless.
