Most of the big dual-carriageways in the city could support a tram line, this is great news
“Eastern Bypass”
refers to the corridor of land that has been set aside for 60 years to complete the M50 ring road through Sandyford, Goatstown, UCD, then into a tunnel under Sandymount across to link up with the Dublin Port Tunnel.
In other news 2000 objections to new route lodged
Got excited that Blessington might have a tram again.
If our government had any sense of urgency at all they’d tell the civil service to just go and implement this and stop fucking around.
Is this the level of ambition? This is the opposite of high speed rail. Imagine how long it would take for the Luas to get to Wicklow. It takes a ridiculous length of time to get from the Red Cow into town
I thought wicklow town for a second , that would be a long time in a Luas
love this! keep on keeping on
Why wouldn’t it go further down N11 all the way to bray? Why would it cut over UCD to join the existing green luas.
Looks like it’s harder to build it in the city centre than further down south.
